A Tiger In Africa

About us

A Tiger in Africa is an autonomous collective.

Our principal area of interest is in opportunities presented by technology and the Internet, and we aim to act as a springboard for a stream of cutting-edge projects, by committing and leveraging a range of resources including time, analysis, business acumen and investment capital.

We are deadly serious (well, extremely serious, anyway) about our work and objectives. But we think that enjoying the ride is as important as reaching the goal, and there is humour and fun at the heart of everything we do...

Project Dennis
Our first undertaking, Project Dennis, is an innovative online voting system that aims to aggregate global opinion on every topic of interest, and present the results in a familiar and intuitive format. Below a straightforward and readily accessible interface lies a highly customisable, feature-rich web application, which is intended to appeal to the widest possible audience, from the technophobe to the tech-enthusiast.

Not only will the finished website be an interesting, engaging and fun place to visit, but also it will combine collaborative content generation with the power of collective opinion: the underlying aim is to address the issue of deteriorating information value, in an environment where information overload, clutter and redundancy predominate. Its scope is limitless and it is conceived with the intention of being a go-to resource on an organically expanding range of subjects.

The Project Dennis concept has been in theoretical development for 10 years, in planning for 18 months, and in actual technological development since Q1 2009. It is currently at advanced Alpha stage, and we hope to be in a position to launch the Beta site in Q2 2010.

Project Norman
A more recent addition to the ATIA stable is Project Norman, currently in the conceptual modelling stage. Norman is a physical, simple-to-grasp yet hard-to-master puzzle game, enhanced by cutting-edge connectivity and collaboration. In blurring the boundaries between the real and virtual worlds, we think of Norman as the ‘Rubik’s Cube’ of the 21st Century.

More details on Project Norman will be made available following the completion of appropriate IP protection measures.
